Green And Pleasant Land

Irgendwie unvollstaendig so ein Land, ohne Nationalhymne. England meine ich. Richtiges Land, naja vielleicht nicht voelkerrechtlich oder wie das heisst, aber ansonsten haben wir hier alles, was zu einem vernuenftigem Land dazugehoert. Nur keine Nationalhymne. "God Save The Queen" gildet nicht, das zaehlt nur fuer Britain, United Kingdom.

Im Angebot, und recht beliebt, wie es scheint, haetten wir "And did those feet in ancient times" von William Blake. Nettes Gedicht, Teil des preface von Milton: A Poem, 1916 mit Musik von Hubert Parry unterlegt und bekannt als "Jerusalem". Seit 2004 offizielle Hymne des englischen Cricket Teams, fleissig bei den last night of the Proms gesungen, na wer sagt es denn. In England's green and pleasant land...lalala...

Problem. Der Titel. Jerusalem. Gefaellt mir gar nicht. Das Niedersachsenlied heisst ja auch nicht Beirut, oder? Zweites Problem. Einige wichtige Christen moegen das Teil nicht besonders. In der Southwark Cathedral z. B, ist der song verboten. "Jerusalem" sei unchristlich und zu nationalistisch. Also, liebe Kirchenjungs, jetzt aber mal halblang. Ach was, ist ja auch egal, so eine Landeshymne muss nationalistisch sein, per Definition. Also bitte, nehmen wir eben Jerusalem, klingt schoen pathetisch and it is indeed a green and pleasant Land, yes Sir.

Die Texte der Nationalhymnen sind meistens antiquiert,komisch und oft peinlich-so kann finde ich die französische mit dem Text "ihr unreines Blut(also deutsches..) soll unsere Ackerfurchen netzen" wohl überholt,wird aber immer noch mit heiligem Eifer geschmettert!
